A newspaper article, tilted "Member of First Basketball Team" that appeared in the North Adams, Mass. Transcript in 1911. The article highlights William H Davis's, Springfield College (then the International YMCA Training School) class of 1892, athletic career. Davis was a member of the secretarial class that first played Dr. James Naismith's new game, Basketball. He was also the starting halfback for the famous football team "Stagg's Eleven" in 1891. When the article was written in 1911, Davis was the current Y.M.C.A. secretary of the local YMCA.
