Letter by Paul Endacott to Basketball Hall of Fame, November 11, 1983
Description:
This is a copy of a letter written by Paul Endacott to Mr. Lee Williams of the Basketball Hall of Fame concerning a document written by his older brother about his experiences and impressions on Dr. James Naismith. The letter is dated November 11, 1983. The letter explains the reasoning for the manuscript written by his older brother. His brother, whose name we do not have, was asked by the local historical society to give some of his experiences, partly for use in daily historical comments on the local radio. The manuscript was written shortly before the brother's death, and he was in bad health at the time of writing. Many times throughout the piece he mixes up the pronoun "we" and "I", as is stated in this cover letter. To learn more about Dr. James Naismith, see: https://springfield.as.atlas-sys.com/agents/people/645. This piece was received along with the cover letter which can be found under file name ms506-01-10-003: There are two pages to this document, but the second page was mostly a repeat, so it was paper-clipped to fit in one page scanned.
