<mods:abstract>A copy of a document that was written by the older brother of Paul Endacott, whom we believe was J. Earl Endacott and gives a unique account of his experiences with Dr. James Naismith. Though not directly identified, in the document, the author does write that Naismith calls him Earl. According to the document, Earl was asked by the local historical society to give some of his experiences, partly for use in daily historical comments on the local radio. The author wrote this shortly before he died and was in bad health at the time of writing. Many times throughout the piece he mixes up the pronoun "we" and "I". The piece sent to the Basketball Hall of Fame on November 11, 1983 by Paul Endacott. J. Earl Endacott was a graduate of the University of Kansas at Lawrence and worked for 24 years at the Eisenhower Center where he was hired as curator in 1947.
