Nomination of James Naismith for the "Hall of Fame for Great Americans"

This document is a copy of a nomination for James Naismith to be inducted in to the "Hall of Fame for Great Americans" written by Forrest C. "Phog" Allen. In the nomination Allen states that basketball is "the only game that is the product of one man's brain". The nomination concludes with Allen quoting the following statement that Naismith said prior to his departure for the the Olympic Games in Berlin: "Don't be afraid to serve humanity, and wait for your reward.". Also, it is not known when this copy of the original form arrived at the Archive or where the original resides. Allen mentions the year 1936 in the document and Allen passed away in 1974, so the item must have been produced during this time period.
