Laurence L. Doggett at Weiser Infirmary Groundbreaking
Description:
A photograph of Springfield College President Dr. Laurence Doggett and professor George Dawson taking a coffee and donut break from digging the foundation of Springfield College's Weiser Infirmary in July of 1922. Based on a newspaper article from the Springfield News listing faculty that were present at the dig and a yearbook portrait photograph it is believed that the other person pictured in the photograph with Doggett is professor George Dawson. In an effort to save money, the faculty and students of Springfield College's summer school unanimously voted to take a holiday to dig a foundation for the new infirmary. For more information on L.L. Doggett, see https://springfield.as.atlas-sys.com/agents/people/589.
