The first public announcement of the creation of the game of "Basket Ball" written by Dr. James Naismith for The Triangle magazine published in January 1892. The Triangle was semi-monthly journal produced originally by the staff of the Physical Department in the International YMCA Training School, now Springfield College, where the game of Basketball was originally created. In this article, Naismith details the 13 original rules of the game. Naismith also says that the game “calls for physical judgment and co-ordination of every muscle, and gives all-around development.".
