The woman on the left sitting on a chair is Springfield College honorary degree recipient Liselott Diem, the woman in the middle standing is unidentifiable, and the woman on the right is Dr. Dorothy Ainsworth. Two pieces of artwork can be seen on the wall behind them. Liselott Diem (1906-1992) is a German educator in Physical Education. She received an honorary Doctor of Humanics degree from Springfield College in 1967. Dorothy Sears Ainsworth served as the Director of Physical Education at Smith College from 1926 to 1960. She was actively involved in organizations interested in advancing the physical education of women. Dorothy S. Ainsworth died in 1976.
