  <mods:abstract>A three-page copy of a letter from Samuel S. Trumpour to Alva Ray Hazard, dated May 13th, 1917. In this letter, Trumpour tells Hazard about his experience in Germany while suffering from a wound that resulted in him getting treated in different hospitals before being sent to prison camps. He also writes about how he eventually traveled to Switzerland, where he is currently staying in and attending school, and provides updates on the recovery of his injury. Alva Ray Hazard graduated from Springfield College in 1915. After graduating he became an assistant secretary fro the Manchester Y.M.C.A. from 1915 to 1917. He then became a General Secretary for the Kane Y.M.C.A. from 1917 till he retied in 1957. He passed away in 1982. Samuel Solmes Trumpour did not graduate from Springfield College. He would've graduated in 1916, but he left the college to make money to finish his course work. In 1915 he enlisted in the First Canadian Contingent to fight in World War I and was shipped overseas. Trumpour was wounded and taken prisoner. After the war he went to a Business College.</mods:abstract>
