This is a newspaper clipping from the Morning Union titled "Wrestling: SC's Arroyo does things big" and written by Theresa Giera. It was published on February 16, 1984. The article talks about Arroyo's season and gives some nice quotes from him and head coach Doug Parker. There is also a photograph of him in the Article. Arroyo attended and wrestled for Springfield College, and was a Division II All-American his senior year. He graduated from Springfield with a Bachelor of Science in Health Fitness in 1984. He then served as an assistant wrestling coach at California State University, Fullerton for three years where he received his Master's Degree in Physical Education. Later, Arroyo earned his PhD degree in Sport Psychology at the University of Connecticut. At Springfield, he coached for 21 seasons, and ended his career with 301 wins, 160 losses and 6 ties, for a .651 winning percentage. He was named Coach of the Year in 1991, 1997, 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2011. This photograph was supplied from various sources to the Athletic Department for use in the 2019 Athletic Hall of Fame inductions. Only digital files were supplied.
