  <mods:abstract>This newspaper clipping was published in June 1918. There are two articles present. The first one is titled "Y.M.C.A Workers Cited" and acknowledges Y.M.C.A workers who showcased bravery in a battle in Xivary. Those workers also included Springfield alum Alfred Stokes. The second article is titled "Heriosm [Heroism] of Y.M.C.A. Men" and mentions other Y.M.C.A workers, while also explaining the extent of German attacks in France. This item was original held loose within a bound book titled “War-Work Courses in Great War, 1917-1918 Incomplete.” This volume was unbound and its contents foldered in the original order, which is chronological. The binding string was cut and the glue was removed with a razor blade. The edges are intact and the placement of stitches are visible. Each page or booklet was individually lifted out of the binding and placed in their own folder or a folder with like materials. Oversized materials were removed and placed in the oversized materials collection.</mods:abstract>
