"O, Libertad!" by Ted Shawn and his Men Dancers (1938)
Description:
A program for the “O, Libertad!” dance show presented by Ted Shawn and his ensemble of Men Dancers. The show was part of the Annual Berkshire Symphonic Festival of 1938. The program opens with Walt Whitman’s poem “Leaves of Grass”, which was the basis for the show. The program describes all three acts and includes pictures of the different costumes and dances which are part of the show. Finally it gives a short bio on every person involved in the show and a description of the Jacob’s Pillow school of dance for men.
