ALESIA BENNETT (VACCARI) Class of 2006 Bennett was a four-year standout on the women's volleyball team at Springfield. A two-time AVCA Honorable Mention All-America selection, she was the 2004 NEWMAC Women's Volleyball Athlete of the Year. During her time on Alden Street, she led the Pride to an impressive 109-31 record and garnered four NEWMAC All-Conference selections. Bennett ranks first in program history in assists (5,197) as well as first in career aces (321) and is in the top 10 in program history in career digs (1,196) and career block assists (171). Behind her play, Springfield claimed the 2003 and 2004 NEWMAC Tournament Championships. After graduation, Bennett transitioned to the sidelines, where she has had successful coaching careers at Clarkson, Simmons, and Brandeis. An AVCA Thirty Under Thirty selection in 2012, she was inducted into the Connecticut Scholastic Women's Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2014.
