  <mods:abstract>This is a group photograph of Springfield College's Kappa Delta Pi members. In the photograph, there are seven men standing on stairs. They are all wearing suits and ties. The third from the right man is holding something like a certificate in his left hand, the second from the left man is holding a similar object, and the first from the left man is showing the group something looks like a photograph. The other six men are looking at the object in the first man's hand. A building, most likely Alumni Hall, covered in leaves can be seen in the background. There is a red line drawn on the photograph. The photograph was probably taken in 1958 since on the back of the photograph, the number "65" is struck through and "58" is written below it. Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education, (ΚΔΠ) was founded in 1911 and was one of the first discipline-specific honor societies. Membership in Kappa Delta Pi is one of the highest academic honors at Springfield College. The honor Fraternity began at Springfield College through the work of Hanford Burr, a Historian, Minister, and Teacher. Selection is based on first, index (minimum of 3.00). Then students and faculty rate the top ten from the eligible list according to preference. The scores are tallied and sent to the officers of Kappa Delta Pi for final selection, based on scholarship, leadership, and character. On the back of the photograph, "scanned image", and "Kappa Delta Phi members at SC" are written. The number "65" is struck through and "58" is written below it.</mods:abstract>
