Letter from George C. Richards to a Mr. Anderson (December 10, 1918)
Description:
A letter from George C. Richards to a Mr. Anderson dated December 10, 1918. In the letter, Richards tells Anderson that there is not much he can report about the circumstances surrounding Capt. Hugh R. Doane's death, knowing only the possible dates in which Doane was "gassed," and went to the hospital and his time of death. Richards then writes that the 112th Infantry now has no more than 20 of its original 103 officers. Finally, he says that when all the soldiers and officers have returned from the hospital, he will learn more about Doane's passing and any changes and let Anderson know.
