Letter to Dr. Richard Flynn from Norris D. Lineweaver (October 8, 2012)
Description:
Norris D. Lineweaver wrote this letter to Richard B. Flynn, Springfield College’s twelfth president, on October 8, 2012. In the letter, he describes a keynote address he gave at the Canadian Fellowship of YMCA Retirees. Lineweaver enclosed two documents received from Jack Bernhardt, a retired executive of the Brockville YMCA in Canada. The first is a copy of a Naismith letter published in McGill News (a McGill University Publication). The second is a letter written by Naismith on March 27, 1922 describing his tenure at Springfield College. Lineweaver suggests that McGill University and Springfield College should collaborate, as they both have a historic connection to the YMCA and Naismith.
