<mods:abstract>A photograph of the 1929 men's swimming and diving team at Springfield College. The team was coached by John Louis Rothacher and led by team captain Andrew Naismith Brown. The team members include 1st row [L to R]: Charles Hall, Davis Humphrey, and Carl Fischer; 2nd row [L to R]: Charles Weckworth, Joseph Clarke, Andrew Naismith Brown, Norman Campbell Ford, and George Alfred Springer; 3rd row [L to R]: Orville Halsey Emmons, John Henry Beaukema, Elton Alfred Rosen, Irving Erb, Candido Bartolome, and John Louis Rothacher; 4th row [L to R]: Donald Malcolm Wilson, William St. Marie, Willard Zweidinger, Robert Nelson Jr., Karl Pryer Hartman, Charles L. Walker, and Robert L. Coe. After graduating from Springfield College, Candido C. Bartolome was a guiding force behind the Olympic movement in the Philippines and First was associated with the YMCA in Czechoslavakia. Bartolome was awarded a Distinguished Alumni Award in June of 1979. Oversized collection.</mods:abstract>
