A photograph of the 1916 men's swimming team at Springfield College. The team was led by head coach Affleck, team manager Everard Schopper and team captain Duvall Evans. Other members of the team included Francis Jouannet, Daniel Kruidenier, Earl Thorn, and Leon Veith. The team lost all four of its matches that season against Worcester Academy, Cambridge Y.M.C.A., Andover Academy, and Harvard University.
