<mods:abstract>This is a thirty-six page photo album that was likely prepared by Jacob Bowne, the first librarian and the director of the secretarial department at Springfield College. It was given to Dr. Laurence Doggett in 1904. There is a companion photo album kept by Fred Eldridge, Springfield College’s financial director. The scrapbook includes photos of the International YMCA Training School (now SC) graduates, campus, and buildings. The album opens with a picture of the Administration Building. It was during this building’s dedication that the college’s fourth president, Laurence L. Doggett, was announced. Nearly all of the photographs contained have digitized duplicates. The majority of the pages toward the end have portraits of alumni paired with pictures of the different YMCAs where they worked. For more informaiton on J.T. Bowne, see https://springfield.as.atlas-sys.com/agents/people/15. For more information on L.L. Doggett, see https://springfield.as.atlas-sys.com/agents/people/589. Scale is not 1:1 because item was digitized using a Canon EOS Rebel T1i. Original size listed in the extent field; Pages are no longer bound together as original binding has come undone; This book has page separators that were not digitized;</mods:abstract>
