This hand-colored lantern slide shows Springfield College students conducting lab work in a classroom. They are sitting at four tables and writing in notebooks. Although the exact building is not identified, it is thought to be an early classroom in the Administration Building. Beneath the image is a caption: “The laboratories for Biology, Physiology, Physics, and Chemistry impress him. These sciences seem more interesting as he sees their application to his intended vocation.” This lantern slide is part of a series called "The Story of the Cinema of Springfield College." Its alternate title is “Being the Story of a Young Man who elects to go to Springfield College.” The presentation was likely given during the 1930s and included images of campus buildings, faculty, and students engaged in athletic and cultural activities. The same classroom also appears in this image - http://cdm16122.contentdm.oclc.org/cdm/ref/collection/p15370coll2/id/2998. According to a sticker on the fame, this is #85 in a series.
