This is a photograph from the parking lot of the entrance to the Brennan Center at Springfield College in 2002. There is a blue Volkswagen Passat parked outside of the building and the photographers shadow is visible on the pavement in the corner of the photgraph. The Brennan Center was purchased by Springfield College from Mr. and Mrs. Brennan on July 1, 1992. The single-level brick building is located one and a half miles from the main campus and was initially utilized by the Emergency Medical Services program (EMS) and the Physician Assistant (PA) Bachelor Degree Program. The Archives and Special Collections also relocated to the Brennan Center, where it remained until 2010 when it returned to campus to the newly renovated Judd Gymnasia. In the winter and spring of 2012, the 19,300 square-foot building underwent a $2 million renovation/expansion. Additions to the facility included electronically equipped classrooms with smart technology; a large, tiered auditorium-style classroom; a conference room with seating for 20 around an oval table; an airy, light-filled two-story lobby/lounge; a computer room; and various other facilities. During this time, the PA and EMS programs were moved back to campus to the first floor of Wilbraham Hall, now called Herbert P. Blake Hall, where these programs still remain. After construction, the School of Social Work moved into the newly renovated building, where it still remains.
