Description:
This photograph shows members of the 1964-1965 Cosmopolitan Club, the original name for Springfield College’s International Students Organization, standing outside of Alumni Hall. It was first organized during the 1920-1921 academic year. According to handwritten notes on the back, the students shown and the countries they represent are: Patrick W. Coggins, Alcides D. Bernal (Panama), Claude Cousineau (Canada), Mohan Singh (India), John C. Lord (Canada), Elemelech Shochat (Isreal), Edwin V. Villa (Puerto Rico), John H. L. Humphreys (England), John J. Mistkawi (Isreal), Charles Thiffault (Canada), Alae E. Sayed (Egypt), Daniel S. Luther (India), Lee Keng-Jen (Taiwan), J. Wah-Doe Bedell Sr. (Liberia), Savitri G. Chandrasena (Ceylon), Nguyen Huu Bang (Vietnam), Anna Apelian (Egypt), Remi F. Bissonnette (Canada), Wahono Kartodihardjo (Indonesia), and Annamarie Sussi (Italy). Dr. Kidess, the faculty advisor, is standing in the center of the first row. Two of the listed names are illegible and the back names seven students missing from the picture.
