Two articles about claims that Basketball was created in Herkimer New York. The first article is titled, "Herkimer Group claims Basketball Born There" and was written by Joe Napolitan. Written in pen at the top is the date "4/22/52". The article talks about the claim by Frank J. Basloe and Lambert Will that the game was invented there by Lambert Will before Dr. James Naismith created the game in 1891 at Springfield College. Edward J. Hickox met with them and talked about his findings. The article also talks about plans to go forward with the building of the Hall in Springfield. The second article is titled, "Court Fight is Hinted in Hoop Claims." The article is dated April 23rd and is assumed, given that it is on the same paper to be published in 1952. The article talks about how Basloe will bring a court case against Springfield to stop the hall from being set up in Springfield due to Herkimer's claim as being the true birthplace.
