Shown in the photograph are: Third Row: Mahan, Rickard, Hodgton, Anderson, Carrier, Avery, Foote, Goodwin, Borman, Poppe, Smith Lithgow, Schmid, Hobaugh Second Row: Price, Butt, Goodyear, Smith, Levitas, Ersing, Smith, Johnson, Varzeas, Rowell First Row: Gernand, Marshall, Amato, Adams, Burdan, Bearchell, Hungerford, Papo. Irvin R. Schmid’s overall coaching record was 271-162-50, and he had a winning percentage of.613. Under his leadership, men’s soccer won the New England Championship (1953, 1957, 1968), the National Championship (1957), and the ECAC Regional Championship (1976). As an undergraduate, Schmid attended Springfield College, where he led the Maroons to an undefeated season and national title.
