A newspaper clipping from the June 10, 1955 Springfield Union about the Springfield College Baseball team going to the NCAA Collegiate World Series. There is a photograph of the Springfield College team and coaches waving to the everyone. They are in the process of boarding the plane. Some are on the stairs leading into the plan and others are kneeling or standing on the tarmac. There is a title and a caption with the photo. The title says, "Springfield College Nine Leaves for Omaha.". The 1954-1955 Springfield College Baseball team went 14 and 7 and were coached by head Coach Archie Allen. That you they won the NCAA baseball Tournament and went to the NCAA Collegiate World Series in Omaha. were they were beat by the Oklahoma State University 5 to 1 and Arizona 6 to 0.
