This photograph was taken on March 11, 1970 and shows a crowd of Black protestors. It is believed that this photograph was used in Springfield Union newspaper articles on Black students' involvement in the Springfield College Massasoit Hall takeover. On the back is written "S.C. Massasoit Hall." Also on the back, the date was originally stamped "Mar 12, 1970," but the 12 was scratched out and replaced with the 11th. Handwritten on the back is "S.C. Massasoit Hall"; Technician who created metadata for this item decided that the last letter of the photographer's surname was a "R";
