A two-page letter from Isabel A. Richardson to James W. Payne dated October 22nd, 1918. In this letter, Richardson writes that she hopes Payne is recovering well and tells him the recent developments in Springfield with the college, including an increase in students and faculty. James W. Payne graduated from Springfield College, then the International YMCA College, in 1914. He went on to become an International secretary for physical work in Mesopotamia during World War 1. After the war he would work for the Fuller Brush company until his death in 1943
