The Volkswagen bus has a label on it, which indicates that the bus is the transportation for the Varsity "S" Club to go to Boston and participate in the 2nd Annual 100-Mile Marathon Relay. The bus may have been owned by Ralph D. Jones, Inc., a car dealership at Springfield as indicated by the label on it. The photograph is undated. Traditions, Cage Ball Rush, Rope Pull, and Pep Rallies are but a few of the activities that the Varsity "S" Club has charge of. The Club's primary purpose is to uphold the prestige of the Springfield College varsity letter. The Club is a an organization open only to members of varsity teams.
