A portrait photograph of Anne Schley Duggan, Ph.D. Duggan was born in 1905 and passed on September 19, 1973. Dr. Anne Schley Duggan was a dance educator and nationally recognized as the Dean of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. She authored many books including Folk Dances of Scandinavia, Tap Dances, and Conditioning Exercises for Girls and Women. Duggan was also appointed president of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) in 1941.
