Greenhalgh graduated with his bachelors degree in 1944 and received his Master of Education Degree for Physical Education in 1952. Greenhalgh was on the Springfield College Baseball team for 1942 and 1943 and was considered a lead-off hitter. served in World War II as a Marine.
