This is a portrait of Springfield College alumnus Burton C. Austin (class of 1894). Austin was born in St. Lawrence, New York on April 13, 1867. He worked as a book-keeper and commercial traveler, and was assistant secretary at 23rd Street Branch, New York City for some time. While attending Springfield College, he was the President of the Rugby Club, and class treasurer.
