The article is titled "Springfield Beats Texas by 5-1 Score: Local College Nine Downs NCAA Tourney Favorite at Omaha." In pencil it states that it was published in the Springfield Union Newspaper on June 14, 1951. The article describes the game and lists the stats of the game. The Springfield College 1951 Baseball Team was coached by Archie Allen and won 16 and lost 7. They represented the New England District One in the NCAA College World Series. In a two game elimination format, they won their opener against Texas A & M, 5-1, but then lost to Oklahoma University, 7-1, and Tennessee University, 2-0.
