Winnie Gouck's husband, James Gouck, worked as Springfield as the custodian of Building and Grounds at Springfield College. James Gouck died of a heart attack after shoveling snow from one of the buildings on campus on January 4, 1954. Three years later, Winnie Gouck returned to the college to work as the "Housemother" of Abbey Hall. Written below the picture is Grenier Ducharme, possible the name of the photography company.
