A newspaper article published in the June 2, 1970 Springfield Union. The article is titled, "Chiefs Eye National Title: Springfield Takes off for Tourney." It was written by Jerry Radding and talks about the Springfield College Baseball team heading to The NCAA Collegiate National Championships for 1970. It gives some information on other teams, some history on Springfield College baseball. There is a photo of the team relazing in front of the Memorial Field Houe. Stand ing are Athletic Director Ed Steitz, left, and coach Archie Allen. The Springfield College 1969-1970 Baseball team were 20-9-1. They were ranked fourth in the nation, winning the East Regionals and advancing to the NCAA Collegiate World Championships were they lost 3 to 1 to Nichols State and 5 to 3 to San Fernando Valley, now Cal State-Northridge.
