The video which was originally formatted as a VHS tape takes a look at the interior set-up of multiple dormitories located on the campus at Springfield College. The video begins by introducing Harry who shows off his dorm at the Living Center, where there are single bedrooms for five students and a kitchen. This is followed by a female student who introduces her dorm in Massasoit Hall, which is composed of freshman and sophomores and has alternating floors for the men and women living in the building. The next student's name is John, and he is an RA who lives in the basement of International Hall. The next two students shown are both from Lakeside Hall, which houses sophomores and juniors. The two students are named Hannah and Kim, and each are shown in two separate, back to back clips, meaning they each have two different interviews about their room shown rather than one. The next student lives in Reed Hall and her name is Stacy. This is followed by a clip of two young men playing guitar in their dormitory, which is eventually revealed by one of them whose name is Brian to be the townhouses. The interior of the townhouse suite, which is very large and seems to house six, is then shown, but Brian is not present which is unlike the other clips. The final clip shows another student named Brian, but he lives in Guilick Hall which is strictly a freshman dormitory. This is something Brian likes because all of the students in the dorm share a connection as being first year students. The Living Center, also known as the L.C., was used as a classroom building as well as a residence hall. When the building opened in 1991, it served as the second building on campus to house apartments. The Living Center houses 200 residents with 43 apartments consisting of three, five, and six people each. The LC is conveniently located next to two main academic halls—Blake and Locklin. The Living Center mainly houses juniors and seniors. Each apartment has a kitchenette and common room with private bathrooms. Students can choose to live in single or double rooms within the apartments. International Hall, better known to students as “Inty,” is the tallest building on campus, with nine residential floors. Built in 1964, International Hall began as an all-male residence hall. Today, International Hall is a coed residence hall housing approximately 300 students in double and limited single rooms. Students on upper floors enjoy views of Lake Massasoit. Massasoit Hall was built in 1960. Massasoit Hall is a close walk away from several academic buildings and Cheney Hall, the College’s dining facility. Reed Green also is located just outside the building, where students can enjoy playing games and laying out in the sun. Lakeside Hall was built in 1960. All of the floors in Lakeside are single-sex, and the hall is centrally located on campus, situated across the street from the Wellness Center and Field House. Lakeside is also just a short walk to any other building on campus. Lakeside Hall is made up of five floors overlooking Gulick Hall and Lake Massasoit. Reed Hall was built in 1920. It sits between International Hall and Massasoit Hall and is home to 150 first-year students. It is a five-story building that contains a mix of coed floors and single-sex floors. Rooms located at the south end of the building have scenic views of Lake Massasoit. Reed Hall is located on the south end of campus and better known to the campus for its green where many students gather to partake in recreational games and activities. Named for former Springfield College faculty member and department head Luther H. Gulick, who is widely recognized as the “father of physical education and recreation” in the United States, this residence hall was constructed in the late 1960s. It now holds just under 300 first-year students, which currently adds up to more than half of the first-year class. In addition to 11 residential wings, there is a main lounge with a common kitchen, big-screen TV, pool table, ping pong table, and foosball table. Each section of the building is separated from the next by a flight of stairs, making the design one of the more unique residence facilities on campus. Video Technician Notes: "Asset begins immediately. Audio is on both channels, but is unbalanced and from camera. Picture is clear. Plays well."
