Description:: The Boston Chronicle was a daily newspaper founded in 1915 by a group of West Indian immigrants that included Thaddeus A. Kitchener, Suffolk’s first Black graduate. Their motto was “Fearless and Uncompromising—Advocate of Justice, Rights, and Opportunities”, and it was known as “the other Black newspaper” in contrast to the Boston Guardian. The Suffolk Archives digitized microfilm versions of the paper from 1932-1960, originally purchased from the Boston Public Library in the early 1990s. Please note: some issues are faded or unreadable and do not allow comprehensive keyword searching.
