  <mods:abstract>A poster detailing three sets of one-month, intensive training emergency courses provided by the International Young Men's Christian Association College, now Springfield College, in 1917. The first subject is Army Work Courses for secretaries, physical directors, and educational directors. These courses happen twice, once in the sixth term (January 7 to February 1) and the seventh term (February 14 to March 14). The next subject is a Boys Work Course (from February 14 to March 14) for secretaries, Boy Scouts, and Playground leaders. Lastly is a County Work Course (from February 14 to March 14) that teaches young men and boys about rural work and farming. Also on the document is a cartoon on the left-hand side meant to memorialize the work of Carl B. Kern, a Boys' Secretary. On the right-hand side is a group photograph of ten students in a County Work Group.</mods:abstract>
