Briggs & Brother was founded around 1852 by John T. Briggs, who was later joined by his brother Charles. The firm had locations in Chicago and Rochester, New York, and by 1877 supplied seeds to some 20,000 merchants. As was typical for large seed companies like theirs, Briggs & Brother issued a yearly seed catalog, as well as prints like this one.
