High School Gymnastics performances followed by Men's Basketball game
Description:
This is a SONY V-32 (EIAJ) video that was originally identified as "1973 Gym Exhibition" due to writing on the tape. The tape contains Men's and Women's Gymnastics and other gymnastic type performances, but also some men's basketball. It is not known which institution, though that they represent. The video is a bit over an hour long. The video show mostly Women's Gymnastic performances, starting with balance beam performances followed by floor performances and then uneven bar performances and finally the high horse. Around 30 minutes into it, the video switches to group performances with mostly women creating pyramids and doing parachute routines. This is followed by some performances from Male Gymnasts. Finally there are some dance routines and some Tableaux's. At around 50 minutes a boys basketball game is shown. The gymnasts and basketball players do not appear to be college age and may be high school aged. Due to the poor quality of the video and lack of identification, the gymnastic performances, may involve Springfield College gymnasts, so it was decided that we should leave this video in the collection. Springfield College Subjects were also maintained in the metadata. Video was originally thought to have been erased due to the fact that the video is two sided. One side is blank, the other side had this video on it.; Written inside the case was "1973 Gym Exhibition" and "Property of V. Klimas Springfield College Box 950 Springfield, Mass. 01109";
