<mods:abstract>This film titled "Men of Tomorrow" introduces the history of the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA). It mentions that "by 1944, the red triangle symbolizing body, mind and spirit had become ..", which means this film was made on or after 1944. No exact date is given in the film. It is produced by Julien Bryan, photographed by Douglas Sinclair and Julien Bryan, written by Charles Newton, and narrated by Lowell Thomas. The film is approximately 25 minutes in length. The film gives basic history and facts on the creation of the YMCA and talks about what the YMCA does at that time by creative narratives of various YMCA people, functions, and activities. Different YMCA types are mentioned including Railroad YMCAs and industry YMCAs. The International YMCAs are also mentioned, including South America and Asian YMCAs. Towards the end it talks about the YMCA's activities in England both during the War. The YMCA was founded by George Williams, a London draper. He and his colleagues were concerned about the lack of healthy activities for young men in major cities; the options available were usually taverns and brothels. The idea for the YMCA grew out of meetings he held for prayer and Bible-reading among his fellow-workers in a business in the city of London. The YMCA was a "organization for social and religious work among young men". Technician who digitized film, noted the following, "odor. shrunken/warped. perf damage. starts abruptly. beginning cut off."; Film was cleaned and rehoused in 2018. Original film reel and casing was disposed of; On the housing was a taped a piece of paper that said "Walter Cronkite History of the YMCA 16mm film/make into DVD". This paper was disposed of;</mods:abstract>
