This is photograph of the First War Work Group to be trained at Springfield College, then known as the International YMCA College. The group is photographed outside with the Watershops Ponds, or Lake Massasoit as it was called by the school, behind them. There is a row of men sitting and then a row standing behind. These men were trained to serve in World War I as YMCA War Work Secretaries. On the back was written, "1st War Work Group";
