A letter from Ralph L. Cheney to William C. Swayze written on March 22, 1917. In the letter, Cheney thanks Swayze for sending a letter regarding the work done by him and other Springfield men. He mentions the status of the school and wishes how he and the other men could be the commencement ceremony. Ralph L. Cheney served as the head of Springfield College’s Secretarial Department from 1907 to 1924. Before taking this position, he worked as a YMCA secretary in Albany and Niagara Falls, New York. William C. Swayze (1887-1980) was a member of Springfield College's class of 1916. He enlisted in the Canadian armed services.
