This photograph was taken on May 14, 1969, and shows faculty member attempting entry to the basement of the Administration Building during the Black student takeover of the building. Behind the man opening the day is three other people watching him. Within this group, two men are identified as Harold G. Lynch and Edward S. Steitz. You can just see the side of Steitz's face behind the man on the stairs' shoulders.
