<mods:abstract>This is a photograph of the 1958 Springfield College Soccer Team. The first two rows of athletes are kneeling on one knee on the ground and the third row is standing. Quigley, H. Liebenow, L. Roberts, T. Jackson, D. Kent, T. Hargis, G. Finke Second Row: R. Rook, F. Roberts, G. Brendler, E. Dorey, ----, D. DeLorenzo, A. Dyson, J. Mahoney, D. Jordan, W. Barker, S. Sartori, J. Loewenberg, G. Galiotsos, L. VanPutten First Row: T. Gowdt, I. Schmid, S. Kasinathan, D. Sullivan. Irvin R. Schmid’s overall coaching record was 271-162-50, and he had a winning percentage of.613. Under his leadership, men’s soccer won the New England Championship (1953, 1957, 1968), the National Championship (1957), and the ECAC Regional Championship (1976). As an undergraduate, Schmid attended Springfield College, where he led the Maroons to an undefeated season and national title.</mods:abstract>
