This is a group photograph of Springfield College (then known as International YMCA College) alumnus John Storey (center) and two other men standing in front of the Administration Building. In the photograph, the three of them are wearing suits and ties. Trees can be seen in the background. The photograph was likely taken in August, 1939, when John Storey visited Springfield. It was sent by Albert E. Neale, city auditor of Springfield, to President Ernest Best on October 3, 1939. John W. Storey was born in Dublin, Ireland, and graduated from the International YMCA Training School (now known as Springfield College) in 1906. He was the Boys’ Work Director of the Association in Yangon (Rangoon), Burma (Myanmar). He returned to Springfield, where he married his wife, in 1911. He then worked at various YMCAs in the US, before moving to Canada. He served churches in Canada before leaving for the UK where he was the Rector at Staplegrove for about 24 years.
