This is a photographic print that shows books being moved into the new Babson Library on the campus of Springfield College. the photograph shows multiple book carts lined up by the shelves in the library. Standing around the book carts are (from left to right, Larry Parent, Fred Parent, and Gerald Davis (future Director of the library). Larry and Fred Parent were employees of Personal Moving and Storage Co. The photograph was taken by Arthur MacCannell on December 18 or 19th of 1971. Babson Library opened in 1971 and was named after Mr. and Mrs. Paul T. Babson who donated $1 million towards the construction of a new Springfield College library in commemoration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
