  <mods:abstract>A photograph showing Clarence R. Boucher posing with his hand on a tree in a wooded area at presumably Camp Hamilton in Lexington Kentucky, ca. 1887. Written on the back of the photograph is, "G.R. Boucher, '87/ Army Seey/Y.M.C.A/2d,. Ky, U.S.U". In 1887, Clarence R. Boucher, was Camp YMCA Secretary at Fort Moultrie in South Carolina. Like many southern military structures, Camp Hamilton was erected by early settlers for their protection. During the Spanish American War and its operation, it housed the Signal Corps, Second Division, the First Territorial, the Twelfth New York, Third Missouri, and Tenth Immunes. However, all vestige of the camp has now disappeared. The exact location Camp Hamilton is not positively known today, but reference is made to them in State histories, State papers, etc.</mods:abstract>
