A hand-written, eight-page letter from Edgar N. Smith to William G. Ballantine, dated March 13th, 1917. In this letter, Smith tells Ballantine of his experiences doing work in France. On the seventh page, he asks Ballantine to send a book list of bible studies and commentaries for a interested Capt. Ransom. Edgar Nelson Smith (1892-1963) was born in Brediton, Ontario. He enrolled in 1914 at Springfield College, but left in 1916 to join the YMCA work for the Canadian Troops during World War I. He went into the Jewelry Business. He died on May 19, 1963.
