Springfield College Gymnasts making a pyramid and start of rowing race
Description:
This is a short silent, black and white, 16mm film that lasts a little over minute. The film shows two different activities. The first is the Springfield College men's gymnastics team using parallel bars to create a human pyramid. This last about 30 seconds. The second 30 seconds shows a rowing stadium and course laid out in a body of water. The exact location is not known. It appears to be at the start of the tournament or race because some soldiers walk out front of the crowd and raise flags on the flagpoles. Could be from an International or Olympic event. Technician who digitzed film wrote, "2nd half is 18fps. scanned twice at 24 and 18 and combined " under Transfer Notes.; Note on film case said, "Pam B. Pyramids Fairly Good."; This film was placed in the women's Gymnastics series before it was digitized based on the note on the front. It will be moved to the correct series after all gymnastics films have been digitized.;
