This dataset represents the known, extant locations of Rosenwald schools across the US South. The geography covers Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Missouri. This dataset is an aggregation whose ingredients derive from three main sources -- 1) state historic preservation offices (SHPOs), 2) National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) records, and 3) individual research contributions. It is maintained by the LMEC.
